TE AMP Superseal connectors are widely used in automotive, motorsport, agricultural, and industrial wiring where a compact, sealed connection is required. Like any sealed connector system, performance depends entirely on correct crimping. At Leads & Looms and with a wide choice of tooling at our disposal, we fit TE (AMP as it was previously known) Superseal connector systems onto our cable assemblies.
Superseal contacts (AKA Terminals) require precise conductor and insulation crimping to achieve both electrical and mechanical reliability including environmental sealing. Poor quality tooling whether its hand crimpers or crimping applicators can result in poor or no-existent cable retention, damaged seals, exposed strands, or terminals that don’t lock correctly into the housing. These issues lead to intermittent faults, corrosion ingress, and early failure in service.
We have dedicated Superseal crimp tooling set up for repeatable production. This allows us to crimp terminals accurately and at speed, maintaining consistent quality across single assemblies and larger batch runs. Wire size is matched to the correct terminal, crimps are formed cleanly on both conductor and insulation, and seals are positioned correctly before insertion into the connector housing.
Our tooling and process make Superseal terminations efficient without cutting corners. Each terminal is checked for correct crimp formation and positive locking within the housing, ensuring the connector maintains its intended sealing and retention characteristics.
